CLOCK THE CONNECTIONS · THE ARCHIVAL CHART

History, side by side.

Explore Sebastian C. Adams’ Synchronological Chart of Universal History — the actual continuous chart, with parallel civilizations, biblical genealogies, illustrations and historical notes.

This 1881 archival composite follows Adams’ chronology from 4004 BC to AD 1881. Its creation date, biblical harmonization and historical interpretations reflect its nineteenth-century author; they are not a modern scholarly consensus or a history through the present day.

CURIOSITY, WITH CONTEXT

A timeline with room for nuance.

Read the labels. Biblical narrative describes what a text tells. Historical anchors identify events supported by evidence beyond the biblical text. These are different kinds of claims.

Hold dates carefully. Early stories are shown in narrative order without assigned years. Later dates may still be approximate. BCE / CE are calendar labels; spacing does not represent elapsed time.

Keep exploring. This small editorial collection is a starting point, not a complete Bible chronology. Open an event for scripture, qualifications, and selected historical sources.
